Geoge Lakoff was a professor of cognitive linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley, where he taught from 1972 to 2016. His research applied cognitive and neural linguistics to politics, literature, philosophy, and mathematics. He is best known for his ideas about the centrality of metaphor to human thinking and political behavior.
